  • Welcoming all letters while I am in North Dakota...

    Hey guys,
Well, I am going to North Dakota with my family for 1 month for some family vacation time. It will be great to unwind, shoot guns, fish with my dad and brother, walk around the prairie, ride horses, go to pow wows, and other wild things.
I live literarly in the middle of nowhere, 26 miles from the nearest town, so there is nothing more exciting than to receive mail. Feel free to go back to the old school and send a hand written mailed letter. Also, any mix cd's are also welcome. Here is the address:
    Ryan Kee
    5575 15th St. NW
    Garrison, ND 58540
    USA

If you write me I promise I will write you back, and may even put a little bit of north dakota in your letter...i.e. soil, a grasshopper, a grouse feather, some dried sage, a bullet casing, or something else terribly exciting from the wild west. I leave this Saturday, but if you want to can send even now. There will be a fantastic prize for the most creative correspondence. Love you guys.

  • Maida and Magdy need YOU!!!

Ok guys. I haven't posted in forever, but if there is ONE Xanga post you read this year...it better be this ONE.

    Dear Friends,

Many of you know me, some of you may not. Either way, you definitely know Maida and Magdy. I am writing this message on their behalf. More than likely we know them from having been under their discipleship in a DTS. I know for me, Maida was the school leader of my DTS. During my DTS I realized the power of her words, lifestyle, and influence to disciple me in the most amazing ways. Looking back now, and having been both of their friends for quite some time I realize that I learn so much from both of them just by watching their lives, their intimacy with God, their desire for Jesus.

I am writing this guys, because I know we have all been touched by them in our lives. There is something that in just being who they are they have imparted to our spiritual walk. I love talking to Magdy about his passion for Egypt and seeing the burning for Jesus in his eyes. I love his laughter that fills a room. I love the way Maida smiles with her eyes closed. The way she says “You’re in trouble you man”, but most of all the way that she counsels me to grow and press into God. Perhaps you have been affected, changed, blessed, or loved by these two wonderful people.

Maida and Magdy have been serving the body of Christ for years and years. They have raised money in different ways over the years, but have never had a very strong base of supporters. This past year I felt the Lord put it on my heart to support Maida and Magdy monthly. When I talked to them about it they were overjoyed about it saying they had been praying for supporters for quite some time. Just a few months ago God put it on my heart to be a voice for them to past students, communicating their need for supporters. I talked to Maida and she was very touched saying that she had been praying for quite some time that someone could come along to help communicate their need.

You might ask “Why don’t they communicate their need themselves?”. There are 2 reasons: 1)In their Middle Eastern culture such a direct asking for financial support is an idea that is very hard to swallow. They will be the first to tell you that they are taking efforts to step out in this area, just this past year they sat with a handful of potential donors to talk about supporting them. However, it is a challenging process that they are working through. 2)Maida and Magdy are definitely in the 21st century, but they are probably not as technological as most of us. Things like xanga, mass update emailings, databases, etc are concepts they are just learning how to utilize to keep up with supporters. I offered my services because I know how to use these tools to get the word out about them a lot faster than they would know how to use it at this point.

Here’s the challenge friends, would you pray and ask God if you should financially support Maida and Magdy? Here is our chance to pour back into the lives of 2 people that have poured so much into ours. Want an even bigger challenge? Ask God if you should partner with their ministry and become a monthly supporter! I know what a lot of people are thinking “I don’t have a lot of money myself, how can I monthly support someone else?”. Guys, Jesus said that the poor woman who gave her 2 cents at the temple gave the best offering, because she gave out of her lack. Its not about HOW MUCH money we give, its about obedience. Asking God “Do you want me to give, and if so, how much?” and then obeying. It doesn’t matter if its $10, $15, $25, $50, or even $100 a month. What’s important is are we available to ask Him if we should be involved, and if so how much does He want us to give?
If God is calling you to give, here is the info you need to know:

1- Please make your checks out to " UofN Kona Foundation". Address your envelope to the following address:
    Cashier; University of the Nations
    75-5851 Kuakini Hwy # 256
    Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, 96740-2199
    USA
2- Do not write our name anywhere on the check . IRS regulations require that we return the check to the donor if a name is written on it. You can write a separate note has our name and our mission account number is 5107 and mail it to UofN Kona .
3- Each month you will receive a receipt  for the previous donations along with a return envelope and statement to return with your next month 's contribution .The statement has our name and our account number (5107).

Ok guys, so there it is. Stop right now...I promise you have 3 minutes in your day to stop RIGHT now, pray and ask God "Should I give, and if so how much". Love you guys, I will post again...about ME, I promise.
    love,
    Ryan

  • Man, its amazing.  When I just write a couple of sentences I get LOADS of feedback.  Howevever, when I used to write "epic poetic biblical analogies" I would get good feedback too...so I guess its the same.

Heres a calandar of my recent life:

April 21-28 New Wave Tour with Loren Cunningham in Spain....freakin amazing, I fell in love with Barcelona and despertly desire to move there. The kids there are so cool, and it almost seems like they don't even try.

May 26-28 Intercession Weekend in Paris....harrrrrd, but good time.  Learned a lot about spiritual warefare, esp in Paris.

June 22-28 Week of Vacation in Ireland....killer...stayed at Port Stewart on the North Shore...north of Belfast....cliff diving, surfing, golf, sailing, rugby, Guiness, Anna, Neal, Jacki, Matt.

July 15-30 Summer of Service Paris....two weeks on the street, hip hop dancing, fire throwing, martial arts, break dancing, short films...all to reach people and show them who Jesus really is.

Life is Good, God is Good.
